What to Expect

What are services like?
In two words, joyful reverence. The gospel is "good news", so we celebrate and rejoice in our worship toward God and in our friendships with one another. Yet at the same time, we are meeting an absolutely holy and righteous God when we gather together in this celebration of Him, so we think joyful reverence captures the worship feel of CrossLife.

What is the community like?
CrossLife CC is a warm, loving, and welcoming church family. We love to gather for worship, and you'll notice that many stay and fellowship after service with refreshments and talk because of the love we have for one another. We believe once you visit, you'll experience the warmth and kindness of this gospel-centered church community.

What if I'm not a Christian?
One of our core values is that we be a gracious people (because God has been gracious toward us). We welcome any and all guests; you will feel warmth and hospitality. Yet at the same time, we are a Christian church that aims to be faithful ambassadors of the gospel. So our promise is that we will extend grace and hospitality and friendship to all our guests, Christian or not, yet we also desire for everyone to know and love Jesus Christ. We truly hope and pray that through our life, our love, and our lips, we at CrossLife would demonstrate the greatness and glory of God and His gospel, and that you might have joy and life in Christ.

Jojo Ma

Jojo Ma

Jojo was born in 1973 at a U.S. Military Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand. His family moved all over the world until finally settling down in Arcadia, California in 1982. Jojo graduated from the University of California Irvine in 1995, then completed his seminary studies in 2000 at the Talbot School of Theology (Biola University). He spent 11 years as a pastor at Evergreen SGV before being called to shepherd CrossLife Community Church, a church plant of FCBC Walnut, in May of 2010. Jojo is married to his best friend and the love of his life Terry (with the unanimous view that he married "up"); they have 3 children. His family also has a Lakeland Terrier named "R.C." Jojo’s all-time favorite movie is “The Princess Bride” (it is “inconceivable” that a better movie exists), and enjoys reading, listening to Sovereign Grace music, Andrew Peterson, and Norah Jones, playing sports of all sorts, adding Sriracha hot sauce to almost everything, cheering on the Los Angeles Lakers and the Washington Redskins, but most of all spending time with his family.
