Clairmont Hills Baptist Church
About Us
Jesus said, "...on this rock I will build my church..." (Matthew 16:18) The church is the idea of Jesus. It is not intended to be an institution or an organization; the church is a community of faith, hope and love. We think that is something that everyone not only wants but needs.
As a community, we are a group of people who care for one another and belong to one another. God has never called to Himself a collection of individuals; throughout history He has always been building communities of faith, hope, and love, because we need Him and we need each other.
As a community of faith, we help each other answer the tough questions of life, questions like, "Who am I?" "What's my purpose?" "What is God really like?" and "Why do bad things happen?" Jesus Christ and His church are uniquely qualified to answer life's most basic questions. And as people of faith, we trust in Him in our daily living.
As a community of hope, we share life's happiness with each another and offer comfort and support in times of sorrow and disappointment. We all face difficulties—how much we need a word of hope in the midst of our troubles! And we also share the hope of the promise of God in the future—eternal life!
As a community of love, we worship together the God who has first loved us, and we demonstrate compassion and kindness to each other and to the larger community. We thus fulfill the main purpose for our lives according to Jesus: "The greatest commandment is this: 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind.' And the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these two." (Mark 12:29-31) Part of being a community of love is sharing the good news of Jesus across the street and around the world.
Yes, it's true: Everyone needs to be a part of a community of faith, hope, and love. In short, everyone needs a church. At Clairmont Hills, we want to be that church for you if you are not already an active part of another local church.

- Many churches today focus on one age group or one type of person. We believe that God delights when believers of all ages and various cultures can come together in worship. As we seek to have true intergenerational worship, we do our best to offer something for everyone. While any one week may have more elements of one style than another, from week to week you will experience a balanced diet of many musical styles from “traditional” to “southern gospel” to “contemporary” at Clairmont Hills Baptist Church. Our worship is to let Him know how much He is worth to us! (Our worship time actually starts at 10:55.)
- 09:30am
- We have Life Groups for people of every age. In these small groups, participants enjoy fellowship, studying the Bible, and ministering to the community and to each other.

Leadership
Fred Pitts
Fred became the Lead Pastor of Clairmont Hills Baptist Church in September 2004. Although life in the 21st century is complex, Fred believes the purpose of life can be summed in a simple way, using the answer Jesus gave when asked which was the greatest of all the commandments: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' " Pastor Fred says, "As a pastor, the primary calling in my life is helping people live out their purpose. My passion is teaching God's word in a manner that is both understandable and relevant. Primary emphases in my ministry are compassion and encouragement. I like to see myself as a 'player-coach' who walks among others in the church and not above them." Pastor Fred is a native of Georgia and a graduate of Georgia Tech and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has previously started a church in Gwinnett County, pastored a church in central Georgia, and worked as a consultant for starting new churches throughout Georgia. Pastor Fred and his wife Cynthia have five children—four girls and a boy—and they enjoy a wide range of activities and interests.Location & Directions
