Christ Community Church

Who We Are

A UCC, Presbyterian and American Baptist Congregation

Christ Community Church welcomes everyone to worship - regardless of socio-economic class, racial/ethnic group, gender, marital status, sexual orientation, education level or any other social distinction. We have multi-media worship in an more informal style - it's okay to bring your coffee cup into the sanctuary. We are a certified "Earth Care Congregation" - and embrace social justice and mission.

What to Expect

What are services like?
There is a lot of laughter and joy in our worship. Worship services suit the season - like the Season of Creation in September, or Advent/Christmas in December. They are a little more formal liturgically on 1st Sundays - which is a communion Sunday, but usually creative and more informal. There are paper bulletins to follow along - but information and pictures are also projected on the wall. We have an animated pianist but sometimes sing contemporary choruses with recorded music. We have an amazing choir and exceptional choir director.

What is the community like?
The church is located in Cortlandville and has a suburban feel. The building is not tall steeple but more contemporary. There are businesses and apartments near the church.

What if I'm not a Christian?
Those seeking spiritual truths are welcome. We are ecumenical - combining 3 Protestant denominations. We have also promoted interfaith understanding - inviting a Muslim leader to share a worship service when there was a lot of tension and misunderstanding about Islam, inviting a Native American group to drum and sing for worship to promote understanding of Native American beliefs and practices.

Leadership
