Our Services

What are services like?
Our services are focused on worshiping God through the reading and teaching of scripture, prayer, and singing hymns and songs of praise.

What is the community like?
We are a welcoming and hospitable community of believers. We have a broad range of ages and stages of life in our community - including lots of kids and families, young adults, mature adults, active retired adults, professionals, and college and graduate students.

What if I'm not a Christian?
If you are not a Christian, you will find a welcoming and real community at Christ Community Church. Our aim at CCC, whether you are a Christian or not, is to connect the riches of Christ to the realities of your life. If you are seeking to learn about Christ, you will hear the gospel of Christ presented and explained clearly in every worship service.

Byron Peters and Greg Norfleet

We have two pastors, Byron and Greg. Byron Peters grew up in Owensboro, Kentucky. After college, he joined the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ at UNC, where he worked for 12 years. This is where Byron and Greg first met and began to form their lifelong friendship. UNC is also where Byron met Ruby Bea, and they married in 1987 and have four children. For further training in becoming a pastor, Byron earned a Master of Divinity from Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia and a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies from the International School of Theology in California. He has served in pastoral ministry since 1999 in churches in the Durham-Chapel Hill area. Greg Norfleet grew up in Chapel Hill. He met his future wife at UNC, and after graduating, he married Cindy. They joined the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ at the University of Georgia in 1987. They served with Campus Crusade for 10 years. They have two kids, Evan and Nathan. For Greg's studies in becoming a pastor, he earned a Master of Divinity from Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry from Westminster Theological Seminary. Greg has served in pastoral ministry since 1997 in churches in the Chapel Hill-Durham area.
