What to Expect

What are services like?
Our services are focused on worshiping God through the reading and teaching of scripture, prayer, and singing hymns and songs of praise.

What is the community like?
We are a welcoming and hospitable community of believers. We have a broad range of ages and stages of life in our community - including lots of kids and families, young adults, mature adults, active retired adults, professionals, and college and graduate students.

What if I'm not a Christian?
If you are not a Christian, you will find a welcoming and real community at Christ Community Church. Our aim at CCC, whether you are a Christian or not, is to connect the riches of Christ to the realities of your life. If you are seeking to learn about Christ, you will hear the gospel of Christ presented and explained clearly in every worship service.

Byron Peters

Byron grew up in Owensboro, Kentucky as an average kid on an average street in an average town. Jesus Christ rescued him while in college at University of Kentucky. Byron and Ruby Bea married in 1987 where they served together for 12 years with Cru at UNC-Chapel Hill. They have four wonderful adult children. Byron earned an M.Div from Westminster Theological Seminary (Philadelphia), pastored at The Church of the Good Shepherd in Durham, NC, and then planted Christ Community Church in 2005 with his long-time friend Greg Norfleet.
