Christ Church

About Us

God is infinitely more interested in the promise of our future than the mistakes of our past.

We are a community striving to live out Jesus’ call to serve God and to serve others, particularly the poor, the suffering, and those who feel like outsiders. We have many opportunities for outreach, worship, education and fun. Come and see.

What to Expect

What are services like?
The congregation will sit, stand, and kneel at various places. Do not be afraid of making a mistake; no one is watching. Do not feel that you have to follow every word; you can just listen and go with the flow of the service. At least half of those attending the service were not Episcopalians when they first came to Christ Church.

What is the community like?
At Christ Church you will find a diverse group of people at all different stages and places on their faith journey. You will find seekers, the doubtful, the devout and devoted. Some will have catholic styles of devotion and piety and others will use evangelical language. There is also a variety of race, age, educational background, economic status, and sexual orientation. What we have in common is respect and care for each other and a devotion to obey the great commandment to love God and our neighbor.

What if I'm not a Christian?
Christ Church embraces those who are suffering or looking for answers to life and we are broad enough to encompass those firmly holding traditional beliefs as well as those questioning the essence of belief.

I have been attending Christ Episcopal Church for almost ten years. As a newcomer, people greeted us warmly and encouraged us to return. One person took us to the hall for the coffee hour. After several months we began to get involved with programs, then activities, and then positions of leadership. I have taken the Education for Ministry course. This four year course helped me delve more deeply into the Old and New Testaments, Church History, and Theology. And the best thing about Christ Church that everyone agrees upon: we are family, and we are always seeking to enlarge our family circle. Come join our family!
