What are services like?
At Calvary Chapel Greensboro the moment you walk through the doors you will sense something different, (and I don’t mean in some weird, creepy way!); from the chatty greeters who welcome everyone as if they’re long lost friends; to the children running around excited that Kids ROCK children’s church is about to start. You’ll experience first-hand the encouragement, joy, happiness, and love of the people here. We have free coffee and usually doughnut holes available, and yes you can bring both into the sanctuary during service… We have a concrete floor! Speaking of the sanctuary… It might be a little different than what you’re used to, but it’s a work in progress… actually it really is. We started building it a few months ago, but meet in there anyway because church isn’t about the sanctuary, or the lights, or the seats, or even the building; it’s about people drawing close to God through the learning of the Word of God. Our music is an upbeat mix of contemporary worship songs & classic hymns with a modern arrangement. You’ll also notice we don’t pass a plate for money during our worship services. We have offering boxes in the back and believe mature Christians should give to support the work of Christ in their home church… and that God will lay on your heart how much to give as you seek His will and follow Him. My goal as the Senior Pastor is to make sure those attending here get the whole truth of the Word of God in context…therefore, I teach verse-by-verse, chapter-by-chapter straight through the Bible… I try to present the truth of the scripture with “handles” that anyone can grab hold of and use in their daily life… from the seeking skeptic, to the mature Christian… all will take away at least one Biblical truth that applies to their current life circumstance. What if I'm not a Christian?
At Calvary Chapel Greensboro you will find folks just like yourself regardless of your socio-economic status, race, or age! Now that may frighten some of you because you really don’t what to be around people like yourself… but seriously, let me tell you… in God’s eyes you are special and He loves you regardless of what you’ve done in your life. You don’t have to be doing everything right to come to church here, come just as you are, and let God start doing a work in your life. He will help you & change you where necessary from the inside out.
