About Us

Making L.A. the greatest city for Christ

We want to welcome you to a wonderfully unusual church. Bel Air Presbyterian Church is a community made up of many diverse ages and stages of life. It’s a community on a mission. Our mission is as ancient as the last two thousand years, and as cutting edge as tomorrow morning's news. That simple mission is (1) to bring people together to make disciples of Jesus Christ, and (2) to transform Los Angeles into the greatest city for Christ. It’s a wild adventure of following Christ into one of the most strategic cities in the world.

The unusual part of our mission is we know it will take "the whole Church to reach the whole city." Bel Air intentionally seeks to bless and partner with other churches. We want other churches who are proclaiming Christ to grow, prosper and help heal this city. Los Angeles can be such a lonely tough place to live. We are eager to help connect you with other great friends in authentic relationships.

What to Expect

What are services like?
We know that life in L.A. is busy and that traffic is unpredictable, so we offer four Sunday services at 9 & 11 a.m., and 6 p.m. Come at 9 a.m. to experience a traditional service—complete with organ, choir, hymns, and a formal liturgy—in our Sanctuary, or (901) a casual, interactive experience in our Discipleship Center. The 11 a.m. offers worship with guitars, drums, and contemporary songs in our Sanctuary. The 6 p.m. is similar to the 11 a.m., but on a more intimate level. Candles fill the Sanctuary and worship is extended during this unique worship experience. All four services have the same message. Pick the service that is most convenient for you. We recommend that you arrive approximately 30 minutes before the service so you won't feel rushed.

What is the community like?
We offer groups and classes for many ages and stages, including small groups, discipleship groups, men, women, and great Sunday programming for birth through College. We want to encourage friendship and deeper understanding of God's word. We also have a ministry for those in the Entertainment Industry and classes for those exploring faith.

What if I'm not a Christian?
We welcome you to give Bel Air a try. On the first Sunday of each month, we have a newcomers' reception after each of our services in the garden outside the main Sanctuary. Come with your questions or just to meet new people. We will have materials available for each of the ministries at our church.
