Abundant Life Assembly of God

I am 36 now. When I was 16 I moved to North Branch, MN and attended their Youth Group. I loved going to the Wednesday group for teens and loved worshipping there. Eventually I befriended the two youth pastor's daughter because we were in the same grade. One day, I told her I was gay. Over the next week, unbeknownst to me, the church met with everyone in my grade and discussed me burning in hell. How they shouldn't support my lifestyle. They also called my dad to tell him about an upcoming conversion conference that Focus on the Family was having. My dad, who loved and supported me regardless of who I was, cursed at them and hung up. The youth pastors then sat me down to discuss my "lifestyle" (which I was born into, not a choice, God made me this way). They paid for me to go to the Conversion Conference. Wanting to be brave and accept new ideas, I went, but it didn't sway me because God made me this way. I stopped going to the church, and continued to live a fabulous life. I am now 36, live in Las Vegas and own a successful business. I am a good person. Hopefully the church was able to find love and acceptance.
