What to Expect

What are services like?
The liturgy for all our services (very few exceptions) are found in the Lutheran Service Book. A real pipe organ and live organist lead the sung parts of the liturgy and the hymns. Occasionally special music is included (vocal or instrumental). The preaching focuses on the Person and Work of Christ for the forgiveness of sins.

What is the community like?
Pittsburg has been diverse in its ethnic background throughout its history. Pittsburg State University brings in people from all over the world. The University has a national champion sports team and several academic schools that are respected across the nation.

What if I'm not a Christian?
Zion is a perfect place for the nonchristian to come and find out about the Christian faith in a non threatening environment. We will make friends with anyone.
