Wesley United Methodist Church

Who We Are

Rethinking church with open hearts, open doors and open minds.

Located on the edge of downtown serving the downtown business community and Washburn Neighborhood and at the intersection of UW-La Crosse, Viterbo University and Western Technical College, Wesley UMC is open for people of all ages and backgrounds. We're blessed to have talented directors for the vocal and handbell choirs, plus a small orchestra. Our doors are open to serve AA, Al-Anon and TOPS members. We're striving to build strong relationships within and out of the walls @ Wesley. Come join us! Let's make a difference together.

Our Services

What to Expect

What are services like?
The services follow a traditional worship order with everything indicated in a printed bulletin. The hymns are played either on a U1 piano or an organ with 39 rows of pipes and range from traditional to contemporary to global. A significant portion of worship is reserved for prayer and includes prayers for the churches from the World Council of Churches Ecumenical Prayer Cycle. Come and experience the Spirit through word, song and prayer!

What is the community like?
We are a community in transition who is rediscovering our downtown neighborhood and the ministry opportunities available. Our active member ages range from preschool to 80's. We are friendly and welcoming and are beginning a five year ministry plan with the 5 Practices of Fruitful Congregations: Radical Hospitality; Passionate Worship; Intentional Faith Development; Risk=Taking Mission & Service; and Extravagant Generosity. We are also the leader in multi-faith community worship services hosting prayer vigils and Children's Defense Fund Sabbath services.

What if I'm not a Christian?
ALL ARE WELCOME! Come and experience a safe place to be wherever you are on your faith journey.
