Warren's Grove United Methodist Church
...touching hearts, ...growing families, ...changing the world.
About Us
Welcome to Warren’s Grove! We are a local community of Christians that gather together to worship God, and we welcome you to come and worship with us. You will find warm and passionate worship services where God will meet you where you are. Come and grow in your faith and knowledge of Jesus Christ, as we live into the vision God has for us.
At Warren’s Grove, we endeavor to reflect Christ’s love to all and in this see the Holy Spirit change our world. We pray that God will strengthen us to share the story of His unfailing love so that, through us, God will touch the hearts of those in Person County. Through our witness, we pray that families will grow stronger in love and in their faith. As we grow in love, we pray that the Lord will give us the strength to go and change the world with the good news that Jesus Christ is Lord.

Philip Chryst
Pastor Philip Chryst has been the Pastor of Warren’s Grove since 2006. He is a native of Minneapolis, Minnesota, but at the age of 9 his family moved to Charlotte, North Carolina. When Philip graduated from East Mecklenburg High School in 1993 he then moved to Wilmington, North Carolina. He graduated from UNC-Wilmington in 1999, majoring in Communication Studies with a minor in Philosophy. In October of 1999 Philip married the former DeAnne Ace from Raleigh, NC. In 2000 Philip began working for S&D Coffee Inc. as a sales representative. After 6 years God called him into full-time ministry. In July of 2005 Philip was invited to be on staff, at Faith Harbor United Methodist Church in Surf City, NC, as the Minister of Discipleship. After serving at Faith Harbor for a year, Bishop Alfred Gwinn assigned him to Warren’s Grove in Roxboro, NC. In conjunction with that he also began studying at Duke Divinity School in the fall of 2006. While working to get his Master of Divinity degree Philip was the Pastor at Warren’s Grove and then was reassigned to Warren’s Grove after completing his seminary training. Philip and DeAnne have four children: Peter, Emma, Ryan and Nathan. They are a Home School family and they love hiking, skiing, exploring, swimming, and canoeing. They have come to fall in love with Roxboro and thoroughly enjoy Hyco Lake, Huck Sansbury Park, American Hero Restaurant, Church Softball and Duke Basketball.Location & Directions
