What to Expect

What are services like?
Sunday School has classes for all ages, including the Pastor's Discovery Class, with included brunch. There is no rigid dress code, though evening services tend to be more informal. The two Sunday Services last about one hour, and there is Children's Worship (gr 1-6) during the morning service all but fifth Sundays. There is also Preschool Worship (age 4-K) every Sunday. Bible Study for all ages begins at 9:45 a.m. The church has a "cry room" equipped with closed circuit TV of the services, as well as a nursery for birth through age 4 during all services. All nursery workers (paid or volunteer) have passed background checks. In winter, during the 6 p.m. service, Mission Friends meet (for age 4-K) as well as Children in Action for gr 1-6.

What is the community like?
The congregation itself is a mix of ethnicities from all walks of life. While predominately "anglo," we have a Chinese Mission, with outreaches to the Philippines and Africa. Church members include African-Americans, Filipinos, Koreans, & Japanese to name just a few. We now have complete church information available by phoning 907-479-2440 and surfing our menus when the phones are on "auto attendant." Extension 502 will take you to special announcements, and 503 will give you regular weekly events, for example.

What if I'm not a Christian?
Everyone is welcome at University Baptist Church. Our First Impressions Team serves coffee from 9:30 a.m. to noon every Sunday morning. Come early and help yourself! There are Bible Study classes for all ages. We also have email newsletters you can sign up for on the "Starting Point" page of our website at http://UniversityBaptistChurch.net,

Hi Gary, It's been a long time. Not wanting rehash the past, I just wanted to reach out and express a thankfulness for you introducing me to Francis Schaeffer decades ago. I'm currently going through a Liberty University program, but your direction toward Schaeffer still maintains a grip. Thank you.
