About Us

A community in which to know God's love. Beautiful music, relevant sermons.

We are a diverse, welcoming group of urban Christians with an inclusive, progressive theology. You are invited to experience the mystery of Christ, present with us in the sacred meal of Holy Communion, beautiful music, readings from Scripture and contemporary writers and sermons with a message that makes Jesus relevant for today. We are friendly, but try to not overwhelm newcomers. Join us for worship and a substantial coffee hour, following the second service. Join us also on Mondays for yoga and Christian meditation and Wednesdays for an exquisite Taizé service. You will discover also that we serve the community in jail ministry, feeding and clothing the homeless and support for missions in Haiti, Western Kenya and the Diocese of Jerusalem.

What to Expect

What are services like?
Sunday early service is quiet and contemplative with a small group. The 11 am service has beautiful music in the Anglican tradition. We currently worship in the chapel while our main sanctuary awaits a seismic retrofit. Wednesday Taizé service incorporates readings from many different traditions as well as chants by candlelight and veneration of the cross.

What is the community like?
We are welcoming and diverse. About half of us are LGBTQ. We have a tradition of ministering to this community during the Aids crisis. Now we serve the homeless, children, seniors and those incarcerated. We also have a lot of laughs, meaning that we don't take ourselves too seriously. We are truly a place to know God's love.

What if I'm not a Christian?
You are welcome to join us in worship at any time as we practice an "open door, open table, open heart" policy. If you are drawn to us, it is our privilege to welcome you. In particular, you might appreciate the Monday and Wednesday evening offerings, which are more influenced by other faith traditions.
