The Rising Christian Church

What are services like?
A typical Sunday morning service is about an hour and a half long with music and preaching. We offer communion every week. We always have coffee and either lemonade or hot chocolate available and a snack that a church member has voluntarily provided. Our music has been vetted to make sure it honors scripture. We try to maintain a healthy balance between songs that focus on singing praise to God and songs that encourage the suffering saint. Style takes a backseat to the truth in the music. Our minister speaks for roughly 50 minutes centering his message on scripture while applying it to everyday life. We care more about the posture of your heart than the clothes on your back.

What is the community like?
People who call Rising their church home are friendly and quirky. All are human and have their own hang-ups and struggles. Yet all are striving to worship Jesus and improve their relationship with Him, others and even themselves through the understanding of God and the Bible. Rising is big on grace but also big on truth.

What if I'm not a Christian?
Anyone is welcome to participate in a Sunday morning gathering, grab a snack and enjoy some coffee. You'll be treated as a friend. We view the first visit to a church kind of like a first date - interested in getting to know each other but with a little bit of awkward conversation. We strive to make a good impression, but the impression isn't everything. We're here to deal with all that life throws at us through deep and often vulnerable relationships. We like to have fun, but we place a priority on learning to live the way God instructs us to live because we believe it's for our good and God's glory. Doubts, concerns and questions are all a part of that growth and we relish the opportunity to talk about them with you in the context of your story.
