The Lutheran Church Of Christ The King

We have been members of The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Christ the King, a confessional Lutheran church in Pawling NY, for over 10 years. Our family is so happy here. Christ the King is a very close knit congregation; more than just a church, it’s our extended family. The traditional liturgical services are reverent and historically relevant, and the organ music is sublime. If you visit you will have plenty of opportunities to sing, both in congregational singing and (if you decide to stay), in our choir. I have learned so much about church history and what it means to be a faithful Christian here, thanks to the faithful shepherding of our pastor. One thing we are exceptionally grateful for is the strong commitment to supporting families with children in the congregation. I have never belonged to a church that so wanted its young families to succeed. This includes opportunities for Lutheran homeschooling families in New York and Connecticut to gather and develop friendships. We love kids to join us for worship here, and there are many opportunities for fellowship for people of all ages, which extend beyond the church doors. As I said above: we are more than just a church, we are a family. If you are seeking a family-friendly church in Pawling NY, I cannot recommend Christ the King Lutheran, strongly enough.

The Lutheran Church of Christ the King is really great. The service goes through the same liturgy structure every week, so everyone can get a feel for it and know what to expect. The Pastor does a great job every week and preaches a great sermon on one of the readings. The Kantor also does a great job and puts in a lot of work in the background. We usually sing a number of hymns, hear psalm selections, and sign other spiritual songs. The prayers are also good and comforting.
