What to Expect

What are services like?
We have a traditional/blended worship service with communion every Sunday. Our Service time is 9:00 am, Fellowship is at 10:15 am, Sunday School and Adult Study are held at 10:30 am. True to our Lutheran heritage, we have coffee and treats following the service. Adult and children's Sunday School and Bible study are offered year-round at 10:30 a.m. during the fellowship time. Wednesday evening services are held during Advent (in December) and Lent. We have a soup and salad supper before the services.

What is the community like?
Our congregation opens its doors to many community organizations--including the local chapter of Alcoholics Anonymous, Ellie's Weigh (weight management), blood drives, health screening, and city and subdivision meetings. We support the Good Samaritan Church's Food Pantry in Pontiac, a program for local people in need. We adopt families in our community during holidays. And 2011 was our fourth year helping with Habitat for Humanity home building and renovation in Oakland County.

What if I'm not a Christian?
There is a place for you here. Lutherans are a diverse group of people, convinced that the Holy Spirit is leading us toward unity in the household of God. A church that shares a living, daring, confidence in God’s grace. Liberated by our faith, we embrace you as a whole person – questions, complexities and all. We are a church that belongs to Christ. Knowing we are loved creates many opportunities for sharing in our community, our state, our country and the world. We are called to do God’s work in the world. Lutherans believe in the Triune God. We are part of God’s unfolding plan. When we gather for worship, we connect with believers everywhere and of every time. In Bible Study and Prayer, we are drawn more deeply into God’s own saving story. In serving others and addressing social issues, we live out our Christian faith.
