Our Hope

"For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope." Romans 15:4

One does not have to look far to conclude that life is full of difficulties. At every level of life we encounter difficult decisions, various trials, and hardships. Often, meaningful direction and support seem to elude our grasp. As we observe our leaders and authorities being overcome by national and personal problems, it is sometimes easy to imagine that there are no real solutions, nothing sure in which to place our hope.

Yet there is a very real source of hope for us, our families and our culture. It is found in the person of Jesus Christ. It is He who said, "I am the way, the truth and the life" (John 14:6). He has come to restore and order His world through the power of His Spirit and the direction of His Word, the Bible. In the most comprehensive sense of the word He has come to be the Savior and Lord, the Hope of the world. Therefore over and against hopelessness and uncertainty, we at the Stillwater Reformed Presbyterian Church offer reliable direction and lasting solutions through the "good news" of God's love, healing, strength, direction and blessing found in Jesus Christ, the head of the church.

What to Expect

What are services like?
We believe Christian Worship is the celebration of God's salvation and victory. "The people whom I formed for Myself will declare my praise." (Isaiah 43:21). Worship involves the assembling of the people of God in His presence in order to declare His praise and to present themselves before Him as living sacrifices, (Romans 12:1-2). Our regular services are held morning and evening every Sunday. With God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit at the center we enter into a holy dialogue with Him in worship. We listen to what He has to say by reading and preaching His word. We speak to him in our prayer and praise. Because of this you will notice a difference about the worship at SRPC. Particularly, you will notice that our praise is given to God through the music of our voices without instruments, and we sing from the Biblical book of Psalms.

What is the community like?
We believe that the way we relate to each other is evidence of God's love in us (I John 4:7-8). Christian fellowship is a witness to a world which is aching for meaningful relationships. Christian love for one another leads to encouragement, healing of brokenness, mutual edification and a Biblical sense of identity and purpose. "If we walk in the light as he is in the light, we will have fellowship with one another." (1 Jn. 1:7) We work this out in a number of ways. We enjoy having a light meal together every Sunday after worship. We commit to helping one another when there are needs. We feel free to ask for help, too! We encourage small groups to meet for prayer, encouragement, accountability, growth, service, and just plain fun. We like to be around each other!

We warmly invite you to come and learn about the Christian faith! You are welcome to participate and ask any questions you might have. If you are wondering what the Bible is about, you may take advantage of a small group that meets to investigate the Bible and Christianity.

Our Pastor graduated from Geneva College. He has a Masters of Divinity from the Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Vicky, have five children.
