The Reverend Jeffrey W. Mello was called to be the Rector of St. Paul's in May of 2009 and started the following August. Prior to St. Paul's, "Rev. Jeff" served as the Assistant Rector at Christ Church in Cambridge, MA. He earned his Master of Divinity degree from Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge, MA. Before his ordination to the Priesthood, Reverend Mello worked as a Clinical Social worker at Massachusetts General Hospital where he specialized in Oncology Social Work, Inpatient Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine. He earned his Master of Social Work degree from Simmons College School of Social Work. In addition to his ministry at St. Paul's, Reverend Mello serves as the Dean of the Charles River Deanery in the Diocese of Massachusetts, teaches in the Diocesan Diaconate Training Program and is an adjuct faculty member at Episcopal Divinity School in the field of Liturgics. In his spare time, Rev. Jeff enjoys his new-found passion for running, reading, attending the theatre and his son's baseball and hockey practices and games. He lives in Brookline with his son and spouse, Paul. Rev. Jeff grew up an Episcopalian in Cranston, Rhode Island and often slips into the accent to prove it.
