About Us
St. Mark’s is one of the oldest Episcopal churches in Arizona, and was founded in Mesa in 1909, 3 years before Arizona became a state! The original church was located on Pepper Place in downtown Mesa and in the early 1960’s the church moved to our current location.
We hope you will join our St. Mark’s family for worship or other church or community event. As a church family, we strive to care for each other as a family, be a joyful place to worship and serve God, serve as a missionary outpost in the heart of Mesa, and embrace and serve our neighbors as Christ himself.

Leadership
Lucian Taylor
Priest
Lucian Taylor recently joined St. Mark’s as our new Priest. He has been leading various Christian ministries since 1985 while working as an executive in the architecture and software industries. Lucian received his Master of Divinity degree in 1994, and served in several Presbyterian and non-denominational churches before joining the Episcopal Church in 2017. He was ordained a Priest in August 2024. Lucian says, “It is an honor and a blessing for me to be at St. Mark’s. The rich history and deep roots of this congregation form a wonderful foundation on which to build new ministries to benefit all of God’s people in our community.”
Additionally, Lucian is the author of three novels, and the co-author of three adult sons: Luke, Jonathan, and Joshua. Lucian and his wife Patrice (an artist and Episcopal Deacon) live in Phoenix, which is also the home of Patrice’s two adult sons Shaheen and Kenaim.
