About Us

St. Mark's is a Welcoming Congregation - we accept all people as they are.

At St. Mark's, you will find a parish filled with people from all walks of life — straight, gay, married, partnered, single, young, and not-so-young. Come in and you'll experience worship rooted in ancient liturgy and friendly people growing in faith, community and service.

Visitors, newcomers, inquirers, and members of other faiths are always welcome to take part in Sunday services, educational opportunities for all ages, and a variety of outreach and social activities. Childcare is available.

Wherever you are on your spiritual journey — doubting, full-of-faith, or in between — you belong at St. Mark's.

What to Expect

What are services like?
The first Sunday of the month is an Inter-generational Service with broad participation from children and youth. We celebrate Holy Eucharist using the Book of Common Prayer, Rite II (contemporary language), incorporating music, drama, readings from scripture (New Revised Standard Version of the Bible), and a sermon. Our sanctuary is a place of quiet contemplation, where each window encases stained-glass art depicting a different symbol of the cross. We welcome all to join us following the service for coffee and fellowship in our Parish Hall.

What is the community like?
This small parish is actively involved in community outreach, with The Lion's Den community lunch, The Lion Cubs children's weekend feeding program, the Plainfield Federation of Churches' food pantry, the Christian Support Center's clothing pantry, and Bea's Boutique thrift store. Service is the watchword at St. Mark's, and we spend our time and resources helping the needy in Hendricks County. But we know how to have fun, too. Parish Life organizes a range of activities that join us together in social and spiritual growth. Our neighborhood children enjoy an evening VBS every summer.

What if I'm not a Christian?
God makes no distinctions, loving all, so .why should we? Everyone is welcome at St. Mark's. Everyone!
