• Lynn Gifford
    Parish Associate

    Lynn is a graduate of Occidental College in CA and Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, GA. She works extensively with the St. Mark Youth Group, our Bonhoeffer Group (a fellowship and inquiry group that meets after worship on Sundays in our Bonhoeffer Room), and the Pastoral Care needs of the church.

  • Susan Thornton
    Director of Christian Education

    Susan was educated at the University of Santa Clara and University of California Irvine, both in CA, and the Presbyterian School of Christian Education in Richmond, VA. She oversees active education and formation groups in the church, including the commissions for Families with Children and Teens and Adult Discipleship and Nurture.

    Pastor

    Ordained in 1996, Mark holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Theology, Ethics and Culture from the University of Iowa and a Doctor of Ministry from Union Presbyterian Seminary in Virginia. He is the author of two books: “Talking About Evangelism,” (May 2006), and “Left Behind and Loving It (Fall 2011), and he blogs intensive Bible studies regularly at http://leftbehindandlovingit.blogspot.com. Mark is also a monthly contributor to The Politics of Scripture blog at http://www.politicaltheology.com/blog/. Mark is a jazz saxophonist and vocalist with "Synerjazz," our Saturday evening worship combo.
