St. Katherine Mission

Avoid this church!! I’ve probably visited 40+ different churches in my lifetime and this was by far the most unwelcoming and judgmental community I’ve had the misfortune of experiencing. A parishioner here invited me to attend their church so I agreed to visit. Apparently some parishioners identified me as a Catholic when I made the sign of the cross the “wrong way”, as they put it with such disdain. Dealt with so many rude and truly evil glares, as if one were crashing a wedding! It became apparent very quickly there were some severe anti-Catholic sentiments here and I was on the receiving end of it. Then two very rude men confronted and threw me out of the church in the middle of liturgy, while banishing me from ever visiting again. What a nightmare! Totally uncalled for and unprovoked. You would think I must’ve done something terrible to deserve such treatment, but no, I just kept to myself and respectfully attended. I’m a very peaceful and quiet person, so this really blindsided me. They also threatened legal blackmail unless I remained silent about the incident, claiming I was uninvited, which is outrageous. I have a screenshot of the invitation which contradicts that false claim if anyone would like to see it. Threats and intimidation are the tactics of mafia thugs, not Christians! How shameful. Please do yourself a favor and look for a church home elsewhere. This tiny mission feels more like a cult. Love is void here
