A warm, welcoming family of Christ

Saint Joseph Parish, founded on the shores of Lake Erie in 1949, is a vibrant, growing faith community based on the love of Jesus Christ, building followers who strive to become the best possible versions of themselves by seeking to live as Christ did, for others. Our parish is home to nearly 1800 families and includes an award-winning Catholic Elementary school for grades K-8, Sunday School for Pre-K - 8 and Youth Ministry, as well as numerous Adult Educational opportunities. We have over 40 different and active ministries that always welcome new members. Our pastor, Father Timothy J. What to Expect

What are services like?
We celebrate Mass every day and welcome anyone who wishes to join us. Masses on the weekdays (MTW 7:30 AM; Th 7:00 PM, FR 8:30 AM) are quiet and meditative, with the exception of school Masses on Fridays during the school year. Those are lively and include school choirs and student participants. Sunday Masses are traditional Catholic liturgy, with organ or piano and cantor at the 4:30 Saturday Vigil and 8:30 AM & 5:00 PM Masses on Sunday. Our Senior Choir sings most weekends of the year at the 11:00 Mass, and we have occasional musical offerings from our Barbershop Chorus or Junior Choir. Youth Ministry participates in a special way at the 5 PM Mass on the first Sunday each month.

What is the community like?
The community is warm and welcoming. The Church is ADA compliant and friendly to all. Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion will distribute the Eucharist to those for whom it is difficult to walk to the sanctuary. Those who have hearing difficulties can ask the ushers for special listening aids. Greeters are present at each Mass to assist and welcome all those who enter our doors.

What if I'm not a Christian?
We welcome everyone! Those who are interested in becoming members of our faith are cordially invited to join our RCIA process, the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, which meets on Sunday evenings from October through the Easter season each year.

Our parish is warm and welcoming. You can feel the love when you walk through the doors! The music is great, the pastor is a fabulous preacher, and you feel like you are home among all the young families, single people, golden agers, all well-represented in the midst of the congregations and in the activities of the parish.
