a Small Church with a Big Heart!

No matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey, you’re welcome at St. John's UCC Fogelsville. We like to think of ourselves as the “The Small Town Church With the Big Heart” and we really believe you’ll be glad you came and worshiped with us! Our Sunday Worship Hour on Sunday is at 10:30 am.

Our ministry began in 1834, and we have a long history in Fogelsville, PA; Allentown, PA and the Lehigh Valley area. Even though our ministry is old, our thinking is not! We are an open minded congregation who believes that God still speaks to us. God’s revelation continues.

We believe that the Bible holds truth for our lives, and it teaches great lessons. We have an adult Bible study that explores the scriptures, seeks to understand the social and historical context of the Bible, and discerns a truth for our time and place. We believe in the power of the Holy Spirit to support and sustain our faith community.

We are a small family church focused on caring relationships within our community and extending God’s grace to the world.

What to Expect

What are services like?
Our worship a blend of both traditional and contemporary music and liturgy. We offer Communion once a month. Our worship is participatory and relationship-oriented within our church community and the wider world. We encourage our children and youth to led us in worship.

What is the community like?
We are an intergenerational church. Singles, couples, and families are all worshiping and participating in community life together.

What if I'm not a Christian?
Many people from many different faith backgrounds - including those who are seeking a spiritual life - join our community and attend our programs. Our community welcomes ALL people to participate in our programs and worship. We have many visitors and guests who actively participate alongside members in the life of the church.

Leadership

Joanne Marchetto

Rev. Joanne P. Leib Marchetto began her pastorate at St. John’s UCC on November 15, 2004. She was born in Goshen, NY on May 16, 1975. She graduated from Goshen Central Schools in May 1993. She attended Kean University, where she received a B.A. in History, with honors. She then attended Lancaster Theological Seminary and received her M. Div. degree in May 2004. Currently, she is enrolled in the Doctor of Ministry program at Lancaster Seminary working toward her degree. On August 10, 2002, she married James C. Marchetto. They have two children: a daughter, Anna and a son, Jackson. Pastor Joanne serves the Penn Northeast Conference on the Board of Directors. She participates in the UCC’s Target 2030 program.
