At St. James United Methodist Church, we are called to reach beyond the "walls" of our church, into the community to bear witness to our faith. Through bible study, prayer, training and preparation we are empowered by the Holy Spirit to love, serve, teach and preach the gospel message; sharing the promise of God's grace and salvation for others and ourselves, as we make disciples for Jesus Christ.

What to Expect

What are services like?
Services are a combination of traditional and contemporary. Most sevices only last for one hour and a half. There is always a childrens moment included in the worship services.

What is the community like?
The community is very diverse. A mixture of young and old. we are right on the border of the cities of Inkster and Westland Michigan.

What if I'm not a Christian?
Everyone is welcome at St James. If you are not Christian and do not mind sitting in a Christian religious service you are welcome. We do preach Jesus Christ died, crucified and rose from the dead. We are not a prosperity preaching church.

such a loving church. When ever I enter this church you can just feel the compassion and the love that each member share for each other. This is a church on the move, sharing the word of God to all that want to form a relationship with him. God has spoken, let the church say AMEN.
