St. Barnabas' Church

About Us

Biblical + Apostolic + Traditional + Orthodox + Liturgical + Sacramental

Saint Barnabas Church is a traditional Anglican parish of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

We profess the orthodox Christian Faith as revealed to the Apostles, recorded in Holy Scripture, enshrined in the three great Creeds and the Seven Ecumenical Councils of the ancient undivided Church, and received through the Church of England. We are the Orthodox Church of the West. We faithfully maintain the Catholic and Apostolic Faith as expressed in the Anglican Tradition and the 1928 American Book of Common Prayer. We believe in the fullness of the Christian Gospel and we celebrate the Seven Holy Sacraments of the historic Church.

Our worship is centered on the Holy Eucharist. We believe in the Real Objective Presence of Our Lord's most precious Body and Blood in the Blessed Sacrament. We are evangelical, sacramental, and liturgical Christians seeking to proclaim the Lord Jesus Christ to every creature by the preaching of the Word of God. In all things, we desire to glorify the Holy Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

Saint Barnabas is a growing, dynamic, missional, and family centred parish, the largest traditional Anglican parish in the metropolitan Atlanta area. Our lives are being transformed into the likeness of Jesus Christ, by grace through faith in Him. We cordially invite you to worship with us this Sunday. Please come and join us!

What to Expect

What are services like?
All services are offered with the 1928 American Book of Common Prayer and the Hymnal 1940, the great patrimony of classical Anglicanism, reverent, dignified, prayerful and inspirational. Adoration and glorification of the Blessed and Undivided Trinity are the centre and core of our parish life. The Church is first and foremost for the worship of God. We seek to worship in the 'beauty of holiness' and we celebrate the Seven Holy Sacraments of the historic Church. Our worship is centred on the Holy Eucharist. We believe in the Real Objective Presence of Our Lord's most precious Body and Blood in the Blessed Sacrament, the Holy Communion.

What is the community like?
Saint Barnabas is a growing, dynamic, missional, and family centred parish - we come from all over the world, and many of our parishioners are from West Africa as well as the United States and Canada. We welcome people from all races, nations and cultures, for Anglicanism is truly a universal or catholic Church. We have many young children and younger families and many older people. We have a strong sense of community, as we experience and live out our Christian Faith together as a family. We are family! We are friendly, diverse and loving. All are welcome.

What if I'm not a Christian?
We welcome all to worship with us, especially those unfamiliar with the Gospel or the classical Anglican Tradition - persons new to the Christian Faith, and Anglicanism in particular, should contact the Rector, Bishop Chandler Jones, for more information about our Church and Tradition.
