St. Barnabas' Church

Born in April 1971 in Greensboro, North Carolina, Bishop Chad grew up in a traditional agrarian southern family. Upon graduation from high school, he matriculated at Emory and Henry College, a small four-year liberal arts school in southwestern Virginia. There, he majored in philosophy in preparation for theological study. Upon graduation from college magna cum laude in 1993, he matriculated at Duke University Divinity School in Durham, North Carolina, having discerned a vocation to the Sacred Priesthood. He was graduated from Duke with a Master of Divinity Degree in May 1996 and immediately moved to his first curacy, a two-parish curacy: Saint Paul's Church, Lexington and Saint Stephen's Church, Clifton Forge, two small parishes in the Shenandoah Valley of western Virginia. He was ordained Deacon on 8th June 1996 and ordained Priest on 21st December 1996. He later served as Curate of Saint Stephen's Church, Timonium, Maryland from June 1997 until November 2000, also assisting as Vicar of a small mission. In 2001, he became Rector of Saint Alban's Church, Joppa, Maryland. In July 2003 he received the call to assume the responsibility of Sub-Dean of Saint Alban’s Anglican Cathedral, Oviedo, Florida. In September 2007, he received the call to come to Saint Barnabas Church, Dunwoody, Georgia, the largest Continuing Church in the state. He was called to serve as the fourth Rector of the parish in March 2009. On 18th September 2010, Bishop Chad was consecrated as Bishop Suffragan of the Diocese of the Eastern United States of the Anglican Province of America. He married the former Megan Katherine Baskwill on 13th May 2000. They have three children: Aidan (9), Owain (6) and Mailli (3).
