- Holy Eucharist, Rite I: This is a quiet service without music. The designation “Rite I” refers to an older style of language in continuity with older forms of worship. For instance, the pronoun “thee” is used to refer to God. Sometimes this is called “traditional” or “more formal” language, but actually “thee” was the more familiar form of address, signifying the wonder of God’s drawing near to us and our being able to address God as we would someone close to us. This service has a sermon and communion each week, and is usually about 50 minutes long.
- 09:30am
- 9:30 AM Holy Eucharist, Rite II: This is a lively service in which we especially look forward to and plan for the presence and participation of children. This service has a sermon and music, including congregational singing of hymns, our great choir, organ, and other instruments on occasion. Smaller children are invited to participate in the Sycamore Tree, a liturgy of the word for children, which takes place during the service. “Rite II” refers to the use of regular, everyday language in our worship. This service is usually 60-70 minutes long.
- 11:15am
- 11:15 AM Choral Holy Eucharist: This is a more formal service (although you do not have to dress formally to participate!) and includes a sermon, music, choir, and the use of incense and sanctus bells. Parts of the worship service are sung, rather than spoken. It has a more quiet feeling than our 9:30 service, in which it is easier for some worshippers to enter into a sense of stillness and centeredness before God. On the fourth Sunday of the month, Morning Prayer is used as the liturgy of the word before communion, and we use this aspect of our Episcopal/Anglican tradition in our worship. This service is usually 60-70 minutes long.
- 05:30pm
- 5:30 PM Worship Service: This 30 minute worship service includes music, prayer, and scripture. Come as you are--leave enriched and refreshed, ready for the week ahead.
- Saturday
-
- 05:30pm
- Starting October 4, a Saturday evening Eucharistic Mass will be added to the St. Anne’s worship schedule. This family-friendly service, focused on Holy Communion, starts at 5:30 pm and lasts about 45 minutes. The service includes a brief homily, the same collects and reading to be used the next day, and contemporary Christian liturgical music led by piano or guitar. Incense will be used prior to the service but not during it. The service will be led by Amy and Joe with minimal volunteer support. Children will be encouraged to help light the candles and set the altar.
Leadership

Amy Richter
The Rev. Dr. Amy E. Richter has served as rector of St. Anne’s Church since August 1, 2009. Dr. Richter’s mission for her ministry as rector is that all members of St. Anne’s Church will be theologically informed, spiritually transformed, reaching out effectively as Christ’s hands and heart in the world, and supported in Christian community. She is enthusiastic about St. Anne’s Christian Formation – Christian learning and spiritual growth – for all ages, our outreach ministries, and our beautiful and meaningful worship, including our wonderful music. She believes that as the Church in the Circle, St. Anne’s has a mission to be a place of hospitality and welcome to all.Location & Directions
