St Andrew's Lutheran Church

About Us

A diverse, welcoming, energetic community!

St. Andrew's Lutheran Church (ELCA) is a dynamic congregation in a wonderful neighborhood. Sunday worship emphasizes a family friendly atmosphere. Kids are welcome and if they need to move around or make some noise, that's just fine. We value all people, and fully include members from any race, ethnicity, gender identity, or sexual orientation. St. Andrew's is deeply involved in our local community and committed to serving west Los Angeles. We also enjoy participating in many events with ecumenical partners and civic organizations.

What to Expect

What are services like?
Come as you are. Everything you need will be in the worship bulletin and hymnal located in front of you. Sometimes a more traditional liturgy can be confusing to new-comers so we try to be mindful of our guests. We won't ask you to stand up and introduce yourself if you are visiting, but we would like to get to know you.

What is the community like?
The community is small but eager to grow, full of energy and a spirit of God-driven adventure. We are a "DIY" kind of congregation, so many people pitch in to help prepare refreshments, clean the building, and create the worshipful experience.

What if I'm not a Christian?
That's totally fine. We aren't trying to convert anyone. But we hope you will feel comfortable bringing your questions, faith, doubt, and experiences as we spend time together. If you desire to be baptized in to the faith, that is certainly available. Our pastor is available to provide instruction and spiritual mentoring as you discern how God is active in your life.
