What to Expect

What are services like?
We celebrate Matins and Divine Liturgy every Sunday; Divine Liturgy every Holy Day and a variety of devotional services throughout the year. All services are sung by the entire congregation, led by our cantor, in the Ruthenian plain chant that is the hallmark of our particular Church. The Liturgy is a foretaste of the Kingdom of Heaven, the place where we learn to claim our inheritance as adopted children of God. Preaching is Bible-based and contemporary. Services are reverent but relaxed. We're beloved children at home in our Father's house!

What is the community like?
We range in age from 0 to 90+; we come from around Nassau County and Queens. Some of us inherited the Byzantine Tradition from our Slovak, Rusyn, Greek or Albanian forebears; others of us have chosen this Tradition as our own.

What if I'm not a Christian?
All persons of good will seeking a spiritual home are welcome. Admission to the sacraments is reserved to properly disposed baptized Catholics. Those seeking to enter the Byzantine Catholic Church as converts will be personally guided through the decision through prayer and study.
