- Sunday Worship is at 11:00 a.m. September through May. During June, July and August Sunday Worship is at 10:00 a.m. Southport Presbyterian Church is committed to encouraging participation in worship services by people of all ages, including serving as acolytes, reading scripture and sharing musical talents. We have a children’s message during worship and then children are dismissed for Sunday School. We have activity bags to keep the younger children busy until the children’s message. A bright, spacious activity area is available for babies and toddlers during Sunday worship. Children are cared for by member volunteers who have been through a background check through Safe Gatherings.

Rev. Dr. Sam Evans McGregor, Jr.
Interim Pastor
Rev. Dr. Sam Evans McGregor Jr. is an ordained PC(USA) Minister of Word and Sacrament with more than 30 years of pastoral ministry experience. He has served congregations as both an installed and transitional pastor, most recently guiding churches through seasons of discernment and transition. Sam earned a Doctor of Ministry and Master of Divinity from Columbia Theological Seminary and a bachelor’s degree from Clemson University.
His ministry emphasizes pastoral care, preaching, teaching, and helping congregations connect more deeply with their communities. In addition to church leadership, he has been active in community service and nonprofit work, including leadership with Habitat for Humanity and other outreach organizations.
