Jacob Vanhorn

Jacob serves as the pastor of New City Church. He last served as the College & Singles Pastor at The Village Church in Highland Village, Texas. He is married to his lovely bride, Christie and has two really cool children, Caleb is 8 and Hannah is 5. They live in South Central Austin and are super excited to raise their children here and to call Austin home. Jacob loves Jesus, the New City community and the city of Austin, and beyond. He is an advocate for those experiencing homelesness & poverty in Austin, and in Haiti. Jacob also serves as a: - Founder & Board Member of the ReWork Project, a city-wide community response that is about work itself and rethinking work for those experiencing homelessness. - Director for Porterbrook Austin, a theological training program. - Board Member for Help One Now, a catalytic tribe committed to caring for orphans & vulnerable children by empowering & resourcing high capacity local leaders in order to transform communities & break the cycle of extreme poverty.
