What to Expect

What are services like?
Our services are fun as well as inspirational. We open with praise and worship that is lively and contemporary music wise. The teaching is straight from the Bible and gives practical application for everyday living. Services are about 1hour 15 minutes long. Our Sunday morning 8 & 9:30 services meet at Regal Cinemas Makalapua in Kailua Kona next to Kmart.

What is the community like?
We are a friendly, loving, outgoing bunch that welcomes everyone. We have small groups during the week where connections can be made. We also do events in the community to help connect with those living in Kona.

What if I'm not a Christian?
Everyone is welcome to join us. Christian and non Christian alike. We are here to help people grow and work through the challenges we all face.

James Texeira

James "Tex" Texeira or Pastor Tex as he is known, was an automobile mechanic and musician when he married his wife Shelley. Pastor Tex accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior on December 7, 1980. He entered the ministry in 1982 and founded Solid Rock in 1990. In 2016, the church was renamed The Hub to line up with the new vision, Connect with God, Connect with Others, Connect with the World! Pastors Tex and Shelley have four sons and as of 2016, eleven grandchildren. They reside in Kona and love to hang with the grandkids.
