Who We Are

Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church is the oldest Protestant church west of the Trinity River and north of the old San Antonio Rd. Organized in 1847, Shiloh continues to be a vibrant, Christ-centered family of worshipers who celebrate a "whosoever will may come" theology.

Church Leader

Vernon Sansom

Our pastor is the Rev. Vernon J. Sansom, Jr. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Religion from Bethel College and a Master of Divinity from Memphis Theological Seminary. His previous pastorates were at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Oak Ridge, Tennessee; Trinity Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Ft. Worth, Texas; Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Ovilla, Texas; and Bolivar Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Bolivar, Tennessee. He has also served on the staffs of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, McKenzie, Tennessee and Elmira Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Longview, Texas. Rev. Sansom served as a Chaplain for the Oak Ridge Police Department and Midlothian Police Department and has earned Basic Certification through the International Conference of Police Chaplains. Vernon’s wife, Tina, is a Registered Nurse. They have three grown children and 6 grandchildren. An avid motorcyclist, Rev. Sansom serves as the Chaplain for the TX XXI Chapter of the Blue Knights International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club.
