We are a Biblical church, giving God's Word first place in our faith and life.
We are a Christian church which gathers to praise God for his saving love in Jesus, to share in Christ's eternal blessings with one another, and to share this message with those around us.
We are a Lutheran church which proclaims the forgiveness of sins as we gather around the Word of God and his sacraments, Baptism and Holy Communion, which continue to strengthen our faith in Christ.

Jeremy Cares
Pastor
I have always had a strong passion for serving others and sharing God’s Word with others. After high school, I enrolled in Martin Luther College in Minnesota to begin my pastoral studies. While I was there I had the blessing to meet my future wife Stephanie. After five years, I continued my studies in the original Hebrew and Greek languages of the Bible, counseling, preaching, outreach, and more at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, WI. I had the privilege to serve at an internship in Asheville, North Carolina. After my graduation, I served as an associate pastor in Kiel, Wisconsin. During our five years there, God blessed Stephanie and me with two children, Carter and Eliana. They have enriched our lives in more ways than we could have ever dreamed possible!
In 2013 the Lord saw fit to lead me to come to serve as pastor at Shepherd of the Plains in Lubbock. My family and I could not be happier since our move here. God continually blesses our incredible church with new opportunities to serve his people and share the good news of our full and free forgiveness through our Savior Jesus. Our church is a true family, and we would love for you to experience the peace and purpose we have found together through studying his word.
