What to Expect

What are services like?
The service usually begins with some upbeat music, followed by a welcome and introduction to the theme of the day. There is a time of community where we shake hands with those around us. Sometimes, there will be a drama or multimedia presentation to further explore the day's theme. More singing will follow led by the worship team. We have a heart for God's children of all ages, so our worship reflects a variety of styles and tastes; from contemporary with a praise band to hymns accompanied by an organ. We include collecting tithes and offerings as part of our worship and thanksgiving to God. We want you to feel welcome as our guest, and let the plate pass. After the offering, a book is passed down the rows for you to enter any contact information you would like us to have. We will not flood your mailbox or inbox with unnecessary correspondence. We just want to be able to keep you updated on events happening in the church. The message will be based on the Bible, and often includes interesting quotes from contemporary people, songs, or movies. You'll hear solid Christian theology in intelligent, understandable, relevant terms. A prayer and song will follow the message. After the service, you'll pick up your kids from their classrooms, and then we hope you’ll stay, meet some people and enjoy some refreshments in the Florida Room or at our Coffee Bar. Church is about God and worship, but it is also about community and friendship, so we hope you will genuinely experience warmth and friendliness at Seven Rivers.

What if I'm not a Christian?
We know it's not easy visiting a new church for the first time. Sometimes you feel like a non-member visiting a country club. You might wonder: •Do I belong here? •Am I really welcome? •Will the people be unfriendly, or too friendly? •Will I stand out? •Will it be easy for me to leave if I want to? •Will they ask me for money? •Will my kids enjoy it? •How should I dress? •Am I still welcome if I don't believe? We want to make visiting Seven Rivers an enjoyable, easy, stress-free, relaxing experience. We want Seven Rivers to be “user-friendly” for people, whatever their background, including those who have never been to church before.
