What to Expect

What are services like?
Outstanding welcome at all levels from people of many different and diverse backgrounds gathered around Word, Eucharist and one another. Beautifully crafted and detailed traditional worship with attention to energy and flexibilitry and use of three hymnals. All people are welcome no matter what socio-cultural background, political beliefs, sexual orientation or anything else that might divide us. We welcome everyone into God's House of Prayer.

What is the community like?
In the heart of Central Square, Cambridge, Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church is a warmly welcoming parish as lively and diverse as the neighborhood it serves. In our worship and in our lives, we proclaim that all people who seek God are worthy of God’s love. At Saint Peter’s, you will find people of widely diverse race and ethnicity, cultural heritage and denominational tradition. We welcome parishioners from all economic, political and educational backgrounds, all levels of ability, all sexual orientations and gender identities. We affirm all members of our parish family not despite differences or regardless of them, but because of them. In the wonder of diversity, we find the fullness of God’s love for all creation, including us, including you. Come and see!

What if I'm not a Christian?
All people are welcome who are in any way seeking an understanding of and relationship with God and others on the journey in life.

"It's a happy and very welcoming place for our family to worship, volunteer and learn about God and the Church. After a long search for the 'right' church, St. Peter's has been the perfect blend of what we grew up with and with which we were familiar, and what we want to teach our children today (about love, acceptance, giving and equality.)" "I will always be grateful to Saint Peter's for being here when I discovered that I needed God, and for being the kind of Church that welcomed me with all my questions and uncertainties." "This place is a home for me; also the people are caring and affectionate. I thank the Lord for leading me in the right place." "The composite face of this church is one of open, honest care for one another. I am always refilled with joy after coming here."
