About Us

a community of sinners and skeptics longing for the redemption of God.

Redemption is a small, locally-focused group of people who spend our time building the community of Bristol Borough and learning to "stink like Jesus." We are anabaptist in nature, and love people whom Jesus inspired such as St. Francis, Dorothy Day, Wendell Berry, Gregory Boyle, Richard Rohr, and so many others.

What to Expect

What are services like?
Our Sunday services start at 10am. We have rhythms of liturgy each week, including call and response, music, sermon or stories, taking communion, singing the doxology, and reading our benediction prayer ("May we be the aroma of Christ to all those we meet, so they may meet Christ who dwells in us"). Children's lessons are provided for elementary-age kids during the middle section of the service. On the last Sunday of the month, we have breakfast at 9am and then a short high church communion service so we can get out of the building in time for the 11am silent Quaker service. Our ages range typically from mid-20s up to late 40s, with a handful of 60+, and many young families.

What is the community like?
Community is holistic for us. Scripture says that wherever two or three believers gather, Christ is there with them - that can be at the coffee shop, at the park, at the brewery. We make it a habit to live our faith out in the open, leading book clubs at the local whiskey distillery, hosting story nights at the coffee shop, and generally getting to know everyone in town. We are very pro-Bristol Borough, because we believe that God has a heart for the people here.

What if I'm not a Christian?
You'll be in good company. There are several people who come every week who aren't Christians or don't know yet where they stand. We intentionally create space for that. And while all of us will be challenged to dig deeper into what it is we believe (Christian or not), there will always be a space at the table.

Nothing because it's a CULT! They say they're for sinners and skeptics but yet they kept pushing a skeptic aside? They always made the people that had children feel included but the single ones with no kids always felt excluded. And there was one member who had an eating disorder and body image issues coming back to childhood andtheir solution: get off of screens. They also let the spiritual director talk down to this person and the lead pastor accused this person of ruining HIS thanksgiving when someone sent a Facebook message about a conflict they had with this person and he called her. No one held a gun to his head and said to call on a holiday.
