What are services like?
Worship services are warm, inviting, friendly, exciting and inspirational! It is our desire that when we gather together, that God receives the focus! We encourage you to check out the resources on our Worship page of the website at www.comnaz.org and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us our contact our worship arts leader, Rachel Treutelaar. WHAT IS WORSHIP? Have you ever wondered? We tend to believe and live as though those songs we sing on Sundays is the only way we worship. Unfortunately, we rob ourselves when we believe worship is contained in just music. Take a peek below at what some leading worship leaders, Christian artists, and others say about the true meaning of worship... Third Day "In a book called Desiring God, John Piper talks about how worship is about us enjoying God and not only giving Him praise and honoring Him with our lips and our hands lifted up, but enjoying our life with Him. We always focus on worship as being music, but worship is so much more than music. That's just a part of it. There's a verse in Romans, chapter 12 that says, "Brothers, in view of God's mercy, offer your bodies as a living sacrifice that is holy and pleasing to God." It goes on to say, "This is your spiritual act of worship." We honor God by offering our bodies as living sacrifices to Him. In other words, we say no to sin and say yes to what God would have us to do. [It's] saying no to our own selfish desires and saying, "God I'm going to do what you want me to do." That's worship. I think we've got to open up our minds a little more than just worship being music. It's living our whole lives just for God. Hopefully our music is not just something that you can sing along with to help you worship God, but the words remain in your heart and in your mind and remind you of your faith and of God and wanting to live your life for Him." Chris Rice “True worship of God is not dressing up our words and our vocal parts and our bodies and impressing Him with ourselves. True worship is to lay ourselves bare before God.” As A. W. Tozer put it: “Worship is the knowledge of the holy.” Matt Redman "I like to say that worship is the all-consuming response to the all-demanding revelation of God. In other words, when you see God and who He is, you realize that that actually demands everything I am. You can’t come and just give a little bit. And so it’s an all-consuming response to the all-demanding revelation of God. Music is a part of it—a special and beautiful part, it’s a way that we can journey together in worship in church congregations, but clearly, if you don’t live the life, the music doesn’t mean much."

What is the community like?
Q. Are there people like me at Community Church? A. At Community Church you'll meet people from all walks of life. From single mothers, to grandparents, to young couples with no kids to young couples with lots of kids and everything in between! It doesn't matter what your religious background is or if you even have one. The Church of the Nazarene is determined to share the love of Christ with everyone. Rest assured, you will feel welcomed at Community Church!

What if I'm not a Christian?
Q. Why Community Church? A. One time in the Bible a man approached Jesus and asked Him what the most important command was. What Jesus told the man was very simple. He said, in a nutshell, love God with everything you've got and love other people. What that tells us is that the most important thing to God is relationships. First, our relationship with Him, and second, our relationships with others. So why Community Church? Because it's about people. When you strip everything away, we are about people and connecting them with God and each other. We encourage you to check out a service and truly experience what it is like to be a part of Racine Community Church!
