What to Expect

What are services like?
Services follow traditional liturgy but offer a fresh, welcoming, casual service, with multiple musical offerings - organ, piano, instrumental, bells (ringers age 5 to 95), vocal. Family friendly with childcare. Special services throughout the year include: Youth Sunday, Children's Musical, Messiah, Evensong, Thanksgiving, outside on the Morristown Green in summer, joint with Methodist and AME churches, family services, Healness and Wholeness, Celtic, three different services on Christmas Eve, Ash Wed for children, etc.

What is the community like?
All ages. Strong children's, youth, music and outreach ministries. Welcoming to all ages, cultures, lifestyles. Very involved within the community - helped build community programs and maintained a presence within the community since its founding in 1735.

What if I'm not a Christian?
We offer a place and programs for anyone seeking services no matter what his/her beliefs.

Dr. David J. Smazik

Dr. David J. Smazik

The Reverend Doctor David Smazik joined the staff as Senior Pastor in November, 2010. He moved to New Jersey after having served the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Rockford, Illinois for 17 years. He had also been pastor of the Presbyterian Church of Fulton, Illinois and served as Executive Director of a camp/conference facility in Pennsylvania. Throughout his ministry, he developed and participated in various parachurch organizations in the communities in which he lived and served on committees at both the presbytery and synod levels. While on a sabbatical from his work in Rockford, he co-authored a book on personal effectiveness, Life Momentum. Pastor Smazik graduated with a BA in religion and psychology from Hope College, Holland, Michigan. He has his Master of Divinity from the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary. He also received a Masters of Science in Counseling Psychology and a Doctorate of Ministry in Church Revitalization. David and his wife, Ann, have two children. Their son, Matthew, and his wife, Alison, live in the Chicago area. Their daughter, Jennie, lives and works in Wisconsin.
