Hello, I am writing to request assistance with a difficult situation that I am currently facing. I am a survivor of an abusive relationship and have recently left Texas with all my belongings in my car. Unfortunately, my car has been experiencing several issues, and I have already exhausted all of my funds in trying to fix it. I have broken down multiple times, in places such as Albuquerque , Vallejo, and Lake Shasta, and have had to replace several parts such as the radiator, starter, valve guide seals, alternator, and tires. Recently, something major broke down, and the repairman says it will be quite expensive to fix. My current situation is dire, as I cannot stay at my friend's place in Charleston, as his landlord has sent him an eviction notice due to me being there. My friend has cancer, and I feel like I have added to his stress by being there, but I have no way of leaving due to my car issues. If I can get to New Mexico, I have a room that I can rent and a part-time job waiting for me. However, I am currently stranded and do not have the financial means to fix my car or rent another vehicle. I am reaching out to you because I heard that your church has a group that helps people in need. I would be incredibly grateful for any assistance you can provide in helping me fix my car or providing any other resources that may be available to me. I am feeling very despondent at this point and am not sure what else to do. I do not want my elderly friend to be evicted because of my situation, and I feel like I am running out of options.
