What to Expect

What are services like?
Your first time visiting us at Parkway you can expect to be warmly greeted and made comfortable, but you will not be put on the spot or required to participate in anything. When you arrive you will be given a bulletin which contains the order of service, announcements, and other helpful information. The images projected on the front wall will also provide information to help you participate in the service, including the words to the songs we sing. Most people dress comfortably as they would for any other public event, though some make a special effort to dress nicely, and that's alright too. Our worship at Parkway is conventional with a mix of singing, Bible reading, preaching and prayer. The music that we use to worship is a mixture of contemporary worship songs, traditional and modern hymns, and gospel songs accompanied by our worship band and singers. The service starts at 10:45 and typically goes until about 12:00. Feel free to partake of coffee at the back of the sanctuary/fellowship hall before service. Your children will be welcome to stay with you for the entire service, or you will have the option of using the staffed nursery for the care of children from newborn through 3 years old. Before the sermon begins children from 3 years old through 5th grade will have the option of going to Children's Church, a service designed to meet their spiritual needs. Participation in Children's Church is purely voluntary. You are welcome to park anywhere on the premises. There is plenty of parking.

What if I'm not a Christian?
It is our desire to make our services user friendly and seeker safe. We try to explain what we are doing and why, not assuming that people know our traditions, creeds or songs. We respect first time guests and desire to welcome them without embarrassing them. We value the feedback we gain from people who don't think like us or understand our beliefs, therefore non-Christians are welcome in our services and fellowship groups.
