What are services like?
Our 9:00 service is blended with guitar accompaniment. A few hymns, some 80's pop tunes with words rewritten, some contemporary low-key songs. All of the music is singable. The 11:00 service is more contemporary with more appeal to the younger crowd. Pastors has a casual, jeans and boots or sandals, style. Speaks to and not at the congregation. The early service has a higher concentration of seniors, e.g., "winter Texans". Most of our youth and young adults attend the second service. It is a "come as you are," environment, which to many is short in the fall, summer and spring.

What is the community like?
The church community is a resort atmosphere. Many of our attendees are in Corpus to go to the beach or staying in second homes. Winter Texans have property or rent property on the Island between October and March. There are a number of retirees on the Island. The median income is above average. But we also draw youth from surrounding school districts, bringing us a mix of socio-economic families. Many attenders work at the nearby Naval Airstation Corpus Christi, so we have a revolving population. We are small-group centered with groups that go deeper in the Word and with each other.

What if I'm not a Christian?
Probably half of our congregation are not of a Southern Baptist background. We have many not-yet-believers in our services and in our small groups. You are welcome to come just like you are. You will not be judged for your thoughts, but we do preach from the Old and New Testament. We have a culture of hating sin while loving the sinner. The church is made up of sinners...some are believers, some are not. If you are searching for significance in your life, this is a good place to find it without feeling you have a target on your back.
