    Samuel Gullixson

Pastor S. Gullixson is originally from southern Minnesota, where he attended Bethany Lutheran College for his undergraduate studies majoring in Liberal Arts, with concentration in history and religious studies, and minoring in Business Administration. After college, he spent a year teaching English in both South Korea and Chile. Upon his return from Chile, he entered Bethany Lutheran Theological Seminary in Mankato, MN, the seminary of the Evangelical Lutheran Synod. He studied the original biblical languages, Lutheran theology, church history, and pastoral care for three years. After his seminary classes were completed, he served as a vicar (an internship) in Hood River and The Dalles, OR for a year and a half. He graduated from the seminary with a Masters of Divinity. Soon after, God called him to serve our congregation here in Bishop. He was ordained into the Office of the Holy Ministry and installed as our pastor on November 11, 2010. Pastor Gullixson and his wife, Anna, live in the church parsonage just outside of Bishop. They have been blessed with three children, Abel, who is 4, Simeon, who died soon after birth, and Elisha, 1 year.
