About Us

We are a friendly, accepting, and healing community, focused on growing personal relationships with Christ and deepening commitments to others. Ongoing programs include worship (blending traditional and contemporary), Sunday school and other classes for all ages, youth groups, adult small groups, and family ministry. Our Preschool and Tutoring Center minister to children and parents on a daily basis.

What to Expect

What are services like?
Worship service is about an hour and usually contains the following: Contemporary music led by a band Children’s Message Offering (optional for guests) Sermon Message Prayer Communion (1st Sunday of the month) All children are welcome in the worship service, and there is an infant cry room on the west side of the main worship room. All children start off with their parents in the main Worship Center. After a few worship songs and the Children’s Message, children (preschool to 5th grade) are escorted downstairs to “Orchard Kids.”

What is the community like?
We invite you to grow closer to God. We believe that we become stronger, more complete people when we come together to experience our Creator, who gives us life. Orchard invites everyone, young and old, to come together, make new friends, find support and healing, and experience the love of Jesus Christ.

What if I'm not a Christian?
We welcome everyone, no matter where they might be on their personal faith walk. We have a strong congregation that will walk with you and help you along the way. Our Elders, Deacons, Church Staff and Pastor are here to support you whether you have been a Christian for 50 years or just learned that there is an amazing God who loves you!

Leadership

Matt Hoyt

I have been the pastor of Orchard Community Church since 2008, and I absolutely love this great family of faith. I graduated from Westmont College in 1991 with Religious Studies and Sociology degrees. I got my Masters of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary in 2000 and my Doctor of Ministry in 2013 from Fuller Theological Seminary. During Seminary, I served churches in Scotland and New Jersey as part of my pastoral training. Since then, I have served churches in California. I have a wonderful wife named Melinda and three daughters. I like to read, play guitar and spend time at Lake Tahoe.
