What to Expect

What are services like?
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT? When you arrive at Olean Community Church, expect to be greeted by friendly and caring people. It is possible that you already have a friend who worships and serves with us and if you don't, we hope that soon you will. OCC is more than a friendly place. It is a place where you can find friends. Don't expect perfect people. We aren't! We celebrate the fact that lives are being changed by the power of God. He has blessed us with wonderful people who are "in process." WHAT ARE THE SERMONS LIKE? All teaching at Olean Community Evangelical Church is centered on Scripture. Whether it is expository, thematic or narrative; It is our goal to always communicate the truths of the Holy Bible. We also believe the Bible is amazing in its declaration of truth. That belief motivates us to be true to the task of teaching scripture in a way that is relevant and engaging. WHAT KIND OF MUSIC DOES OLEAN COMMUNITY USE? The short answer to that question is Christian Music. You will hear music as old as traditional hymns and as new as songs by Third Day or the Newsboys. The church has been blessed with a vast library of worship resources, and our praise and worship team enjoys blending a variety of styles to facilitate a spirit of celebration and worship that glorifies God while teaching and encouraging His people. WHAT SHOULD I WEAR? At Olean Community Church, we are more interested in you than what you choose to wear. At Olean Community Church you will occasionally see a suit and tie but more than likely, you will see casual attire (even our pastors don't consistently wear ties).

What is the community like?
We are a small growing church. God is blessing us in so many ways. Olean Community Church began in 2003 with a small core group of about 12 people and has grown to a congregation of Christ Followers from many different backgrounds and church traditions. We are committed to keeping the main thing the main thing. Come and follow Jesus with us!

What if I'm not a Christian?
Whether you are already a Christian or if you are just wanting to check out Christianity, you are welcomed by Jesus and the church family at OCC.
