Bill Kiewiet
Associate PastorPastor Bill came to Oakwood in 2008 and previously had served as Executive Director of Alternatives Pregnancy Care Center in Kalamazoo. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Cornerstone University and a Master’s degree from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary. He is a Limited Licensed Professional Counselor and an adjunct Professor at Cornerstone University in their Professional and Graduate Studies. He and his wife Melinda have been married since December of 1981.They have three adult sons and one daughter. Bill’s responsibilities at Oakwood are in the area of discipleship and outreach. He loves to interact with people so don’t hesitate to set up a coffee or a lunch.

Steve Surine
Student MinistriesSteve came to Oakwood in July 2009. He is a graduate of Grand Rapids Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree in pastoral ministry. He is also a graduate of Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism. Before moving to Grand Rapids to attend seminary, he was the Interim Director of Student Ministries at a local Bible church. He also worked as a Youth Treatment Specialist at Wedgewood Christian Services. He and his wife Jennifer have been married since June, 2006.

Steve Johnson
Senior PastorPastor Johnson came to Oakwood in 1987 as an Associate Pastor. He was named Senior Pastor following the sudden death of his predecessor in 1990. He is a graduate of Grand Rapids School of the Bible and Music, and holds a Bachelor’s degree from Cornerstone University and Master’s degree from Moody Bible Institute. Steve’s hometown is Fremont, Michigan. He and his wife, Beth, were married June 13, 1975. They have two grown daughters and seven grandchildren.
