What is the community like?
Oak Ridge Community Church is a non-denominational community committed to following Jesus, growing in faith, and building meaningful relationships. We gather for Sunday worship and connect throughout the week through Life Groups in Columbia, Ellicott City, and Laurel. Our ministries support children, teenagers, and families, including children’s Sunday School and Lifeline, our middle and high school youth group. Together, we seek to love God, care for one another, and live out the truths of the Bible.

What if I'm not a Christian?
If you are exploring Christianity, a Sunday service is an opportunity to learn about Jesus and the Bible through worship, prayer, and teaching. Leadership

Dave Ferguson

Dave Ferguson
Pastor

Dave and Shirley met at the University of Maryland at College Park in 1987, have been married since 1993, have five children, and five grandchildren. Shirley is creative and loves to teach the Bible, Shakespeare, and sewing. Dave was ordained as a pastor of Oak Ridge in 2013 and has served as a staff pastor and volunteer pastor. Dave became a Christian as a teenager shortly after his parents divorced. He struggled with feelings of guilt and anxiety for a long time as a younger man. As a college student, Dave was finally able to trust Jesus’ promise of forgiveness, and that made all the difference in his life! Through the inspiring example of mature believers around him, he caught a vision for intimacy with Christ, leadership, and the Gospel. Dave has a passion to help people grow in their faith and discover the gifts that God has given them, starting with salvation and seeing people raised up in leadership. Dave loves Tolkien, gaming, Church history, and Indian food. Shirley enjoys Asian Drama, Luke Skywalker, and any movie with Bruce Boxlietner.
