What to Expect

What are services like?
We design our worship to be God-centered, extolling His glory and celebrating His grace in the gospel of Jesus. Our approach to music is best described as "blended." We incorporate a wide variety of musical styles, including traditional hymns, psalms, and the best of contemporary music. We use some of the classic Protestant liturgies but strive to keep it all fresh for the heart. In regards to the sermons, we believe that God still uses the preaching of His word and we devote ourselves to the consistent exposition and application of it. You may feel free to dress up or dress down for worship. You will find worshipers coming in all styles and fashions. Sunday worship at North Park is at 10:15 a.m. for most of the year. Summertime (June through Labor Day) worship is at 9:30 a.m.

What is the community like?
We believe the church is more than a Sunday gathering. We believe it is to be a Family and we would love for yours to get connected with ours!

What if I'm not a Christian?
Both near and far, unbelievers matter to God and to us.

Dan Hendley

I am thrilled to be pastor at North Park Church since Spring 2009. I am also thrilled to be the husband of Beth and the father of four awesome, now adult, children who are scattered around the country. Beth and I live in Wexford, close to the church, but we came from far away. We migrated to Pittsburgh after living our entire lives in Florida. I am from Ocala. Beth is from Bradenton. We met as students at the University of Florida. Our adult lives were spent in Palm Bay, Florida where I pastored Covenant Presbyterian Church (PCA) for more than 24 years. What would make us move from Florida to Pittsburgh? God. And the great joy of leading a church like North Park where people truly love our Savior and desire to advance His fame. Other factoids – holds M. Div from Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi. Was born June 11, 1957. Grew up Southern Baptist. Became Presbyterian in college. Played and coached basketball. Was the teacher on the radio program The Bible and Life for more than twenty years. Likes humor, reading, Florida Gators.
