New Concord Baptist Church

If you want a church that is true to the Word of God, the people are very loving, caring, and acceptable, then this is the place. Every time I would visit, I always felt at home. So now I am a member. A saying that I have learned is "What is said in church, stays in church." There is no gossiping, if a person's name is mentioned it will be for prayer and for concern that the person is getting better, or whatever the situation was. "Unspoken requests" are made a good number of times. This is a small country church in size physically, however spiritually it is a massive church. We are a praying church and we live the true Word of God.

I went to this church as a young boy. My Father was: Robert L. Beck, and my mother , Mary Lou Beck. I was Baptized in the Baptist church in Melber. I dearly loved the little church on the hill {what I called it}. We were neighbors with Tatar Nelson, lived in the big white house on the hill. owned by Woodrow Wilson. We left Melber in the early 60's, a move I regretted my entire life. Around 1997, I returned for a speaking engagement at New Concord, for I was a Missionary to Kenya and later Uganda with Africa Inland Missions. While there with my family, I was so surprised to see much of the originals windows especially the Beautiful glass over the door. While I was speaking from the Pulpit, I was very touched to look out and see my 9 yr old, sitting in the Pews where I used to set and sometimes Miss. Thruston would cool me off by fanning me. I'm turning 68 yrs now, maybe I can visit again. On my last visit, I was to speak in Mayfield, while driving there, I came upon an accident which just happened, and was sad to hear that those who were killed was Tatar Nelsons Daughter and Grandchild. ...
